About Me

I have competed in triathlons from sprint to ironman distance (both IM Taupo and Challenge Wanaka). Consequently I am aware of the importance of balancing training with lifestyle, thus complimenting other important aspects of an athlete’s life (family, work, study commitments etc…). • Entering your first triathlon? • Stepping up to a longer distance? • Looking to go faster? • Wanting to turn previous negatives into positives? I have coached athletes to achieve this and more. Training programmes are accessible online, so athletes can be located anywhere and still reap the benefits of my coaching.

I have been a professional coach since February 2000. Since then I have worked with 100's of athletes to help them achieve sporting and health & fitness goals. I have a wealth of experience and also knowledge backed up with tertiary qualifications:

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine - University of Otago
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Rehab - University of Otago
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Science (Sports & Exercise Science) - Massey University
  • Bachelor of Science (Anatomy & Structural Biology) - - University of Otago
  • Diploma in Sports Studies - University of Otago

As an athlete I've completed 6 iron-distance events at both Ironman NZ and Challenge Wanaka, numerous half Ironman's including the original Taupo Half Ironman in 1999 in a time of 4:37. Although I'm yet to run a sub-3hr marathon it is being worked on and my current PB stands from the 2014 Dunedin Marathon in a time of 3:00:20, as I turned the corner into the finishing straight I watched the clock tick from 2:59:59 to 3:00:00!!!!
