Step Into Stride - Beginner Half Marathon Training Plan

Step Into Stride – Beginner Half Marathon Training Plan is designed for runners taking on their first half marathon or building confidence over the 21.1km distance. With a structured, progressive approach, you'll develop endurance, improve fitness, and arrive at race day feeling prepared and capable. Includes guidance from Coach Ray and a proven training framework that balances consistency, recovery, and long-term improvement.

Whether you're training for your first half marathon or looking to improve on a previous result, Step Into Stride provides a structured, progressive training programme designed specifically for recreational runners.

Your plan is tailored to your chosen event and current fitness level, with options for runners who can comfortably run for 30 minutes continuously, as well as dedicated run/walk pathways for those building towards running the full distance non-stop.

Each week includes a long run to build endurance, easy runs to develop aerobic fitness, and quality sessions introduced progressively as your fitness improves. Training follows Coach Ray's proven Hard Day / Easy Day philosophy and progressive periodisation model, helping you train consistently while reducing the risk of burnout and injury.

You'll receive:
• A personalised training plan delivered through the Training Tilt app
• Options for 3, 4, or 5 runs per week
• Detailed workout instructions and pacing guidance using Coach Ray's training level system
• Integration with Garmin and other leading fitness devices
• Access to a private VIP Facebook community
